What Would You Do For Peace?

While filtering through Randi's papers I came across an in-class writing assignment titled, What Would You Do For Peace? The paper discussed how Martin Luther King, Jr. had won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and used the awarded money to benefit groups working for justice in a peaceful way. The students were to write an "essay" discussing how they would use the prize money to promote world peace. Randi's words are as follows:

I would give my money to homeless people because everybody needs a home. I would buy water for a drought. I would give money to schools and poor people. I would give some money to the search team to buy more equipment to help find people and (give money to) stores so they don't have to go through bankruptcy. I would give some money to nursing homes so they can buy more medicine. I would give some to people who don't have cars. I would give money to the army. I will give money to peopole who need food and people who need clothes because no one needs to wear the same clothes everyday. I would give the rest of my money to people who work for gas stations so we can have more gas.

These are the words of our third grade daughter. I must admit that this "moderately liberal" mommy is quite proud.

That is definitely something to be proud of! Better save that baby's paper in your memory box to pull out now and then. I am new to the blogging world and would love to know how to add a playlist to my blog.
