My Not So Little Man

Several weeks ago I took Toni, Bayleigh, and Cody to the pediatrician for their yearly check-ups. Now, you need to understand that the girls, including Randi, have always been small. They came into this world very petite (5lbs 15oz, 5lbs 15oz, and 6lbs), and have remained so through their young lives. I know for a fact that none of them weighed more than 35-37 lbs when they started kindergarten.

When the children are called back to the exam room the first thing they do is weigh them. So up goes Bayleigh. She weighs in at 39lbs....now, that's big for Miss Bayleigh. Up comes Toni and she weighs a mighty 41lbs. (Yeah...we are finally putting on some weight.)

Now it's Cody's turn. I have noticed lately that when I pick him up it seems to be more difficult. I just assumed that I was tired and getting old. I expected him to weigh somewhere around 30-32lbs. Then I hear the nurse say, "Good job Cody! You weigh 36lbs!" Oh My Goodness!! When did he get so BIG?????? This is my baby....he shouldn't weigh 36 lbs!!!! Of course this could explain why his 3T shirts seem a little small these days. :)

So I guess, physically, he's not my lil' man anymore. (Of course he will always be mama's baby! LOL!) I don't know why I am surprised by his weight. He was born weighing 8lbs 7oz and has been eating like a grown man since then. The time just seems to fly so fast!

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing weekend!

Tag...I'm It!

Okay, one of my dear "blogging-buddies" seems to have tagged me. The instructions were to go to my pictures and find the fourth folder. Open the fourth picture and blog it. Here it is...

Upon first glance, I started to cheat and pick another picture. I thought, "This isn't a very good picture. It's too busy." But then I stopped and really looked at it. It was then that I decided that it truly gives a good glimpse of my life. First there is Randi, my first born, in true form. Her jiggling and wiggling her little body with her hair flying all over the place. Randi has been a mover and shaker since before she was born. The next thing that I noticed is all the girls. With it being a picture of mini-cheer camp, there are a lot of GIRLS. With a household of girls myself, the picture just seems to fit. If you look to the background you see children that are currently in Chris' band, which of course if a very big part of our lives. And if you look really, really close one of the young men playing the bass drum is actually one of my "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (math team member). So this fourth picture, in the fourth album that seems to simply be a photo of the mini-cheer camp pep-rally, is truly a "good picture" of my life! :)
